Both people in the crowd and the sponsoring Hannibal Arts Council agreed that
Saturday's attendance at the 25th Autumn Historic Folklife Festival was the

Shirley's brother, Bob
Ehrenberger of Shelbyville began blacksmithing eight years ago when his son, Daniel, was 12 and wanted to make knives. Now his son is making knives to sell,
and Bob is making ornamentals.
Several years ago Bob quit his job as a computer programmer to work with iron
full-time. He said he is among about 20 professionals in the 450 members of the
Blacksmiths Association of Missouri (BAM). His wife, Janice was selling her
homemade soap - made from oatmeal and goats' milk from the goats they raised on
their land.
